Note | Excellent example of this smaller Umbilia subspecies. From the base to the dorsum, the tortilla brown markings complement the glazed dorsum. The specimen has a shortened anterior extremity with the classic transverse groove. Great symmetry and overall shape to this specimen. Dark and distinct spotting present on both lateral walls. A minor growth fold can be seen on lateral wall, labral side (arrow). A few sand inclusions on the base and between aperture teeth. The shell does show typical rostration. Taken by Trawler off Rocky Cape, Tasmania in 1986 at 120 meters.Grader: F+++. NOTE: Shipping commences the week of March 6. |
