Size | 29.4 mm |
Locality | Australia |
Note | An outstanding specimen of the very rare Western Australian form of this much coveted, ‘classic’, endemic southern Australian species. Always appreciably smaller at maturity than Port Lincoln examples; with reduced axial folds; and with more subtle colours. Rare PERFECTION. Delicate peach-pink, decorated with tiny, pointillistic, evenly distributed flecks of caramel. Now extremely difficult to obtain, coming only from choice old collections. For the Harpidae specialist whose collection yet lacks an outstanding example of the Esperance form. Size: 29.4 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Cape le Grand, Esperance, Western Australia, Australia; upon coarse white sand/gravel substrate; 32 m; 1997. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
