Size | 33.5 mm, w/o |
Locality | Australia |
Note | One of the LARGEST and BEST specimens I have ever seen of the REAL duffusi - an eastern Australian endemic species. True duffusi is a diminutive species, (all shells exceeding 50 mm which I have ever seen identified as duffusi were actually either acanthopterus or triformis), restricted to the eastern coast of Australia. (See Vokes for a discussion of the restricted geographic range of this species.). Exemplary state of preservation for a delicate, deep-water trawled specimen. Now obtainable only from choice old collections. Size: 33.5 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Off Coffs Harbour, Mid North Coast, New South Wales, Australia; upon sand substrate; 30-70 m; trawled; 1986. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
