Note | The BEST specimen of the JES Collection, this outstanding example of the uncommon Fijian form exhibits particularly profuse dorsal maculae, each of which is formed with rare clarity, arrayed in an overall pattern of the highest aesthetic merit, with certain maculae forming distinct spiral bands. Rich and beautiful colour. An exquisite ‘bird’s egg’, and a humphreysi for the connoisseur. Size: 14 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Sigatoka, Viti Levu, Fiji; upon coral sand/rubble, under coral slab, at low tide; 1981. |
