| Note | An outstanding ultra-large specimen, of the finest possible quality, of this endemic, deep-water Queensland species. Although numerous examples were collected during the legendary 1980s Queensland trawls, exceedingly few retained the delicate, bulbous protoconch, as does the current specimen - very important for the connoisseur. The delicate outer apertural is also far better preserved than in the majority of examples. Now obtainable only from old collections. Family: Borsoniidae. Size: 54.7 mm (length). Grading: F++++. Data: Off Cape Moreton, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 60-120 m; trawled; 1982. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
