Note | A magnificent specimen of an extremely pale form, in which the ground is a striking pure white, as opposed to the typical whitish cream. Considered intermediate with pure white howelli. Dorsum with nebulous, ultra-pale yellowish tan maculae. Hypermature, with great weight to size ratio. Exceedingly clean ventrum, with virtually none of the usual substrate inclusion to dentition, giving the specimen an immaculate appearance. Size: 93.3 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Point Hicks, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 220 m; trawled; 2018. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
