Note | A superb large specimen of this rare, seldom offered, extreme deep-water, endemic north-western Australian species. A product of the legendary 1980s trawls off the isolated Rowley Shoals, and never obtainable since. Rare quality for this typically rough species, with PERFECT, fully mature outer apertural lip, and PERFECT columellar shield. Definitely for the Cassidae specialist whose collection yet lacks this elusive, now extremely difficult to obtain species. Size: 52.4 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Off Rowley Shoals, Western Australia, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 300-400 m; trawled; 1981. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
