Note | A superb ultra-large specimen of the little known Queensland form - the most beautiful incarnation of the species. The Queensland form exhibits a fine shell, and beautiful colours and patterns, which, in the current specimen, are rich caramel-chocolate upon a pure white ground. Exemplary quality for a fine, dredged shell. PERFECT outer apertural lip. Small loss at anterior. Now obtainable only from old collections. For the Condiae specialist whose collection yet lacks a superb example of the Queensland form. Size: 62.1 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Lodestone Reef, off Townsville, Queensland, Australia; upon sand/rubble substrate; 6-10 m; dredged; 1986. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
