Note | Commencing over recent auctions, we are working our way through the most outstanding and SPECIAL armeniaca of the JES Collection, all of the classic, much coveted, no longer freshly available Great Australian Bight form. SPECIMEN 2: Another of my unusual and striking colour forms. Multitudinous dorsal maculae, (many coalescent), across sporadic clouds of tan-ochre, upon an atypically pale ground, and with a well-delineated mantle line. Ventrum of particularly rich apricot. Definitely for the Umbilia specialist. Size: 79.1 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Great Australian Bight, off Eucla, Western Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 140-150 m; 2000. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
