Note | Commencing over recent auctions, we are working our way through the most outstanding and SPECIAL armeniaca of the JES Collection - all of the classic, much coveted, no longer freshly available Great Australian Bight form. SPECIMEN 1: The current GIANT just exceeds the coveted 110 mm threshold, and is of exemplary quality for such advanced size and age. Pale yellow and cream dorsum, with a particularly beautiful ventrum, exhibiting a distinct pink region near the dentition. Definitely for the Umbilia specialist, or collector of giant sized shells. Size: 110.2 mm (length). Grading: F++++. Data: Great Australian Bight, off Eucla, Western Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 140-150 m; 2000.
