Size | 56.8 mm |

Note | A superb specimen of the exceedingly rare Kangaroo Island form of this miraculous, much sought after, extreme deep-water, endemic south-eastern Australian species. A very rough species, almost always dead-collected with serious damage from life and the trawling process, and typically with worm holes, discoloration and encrustation. The current specimen, by contrast, is very clean, being free from major substrate discoloration, and exhibits only a few predatroy worm marks and a couple of small perforations. Fresh specimens no longer available, and unlikely ever to be collected again. Now obtainable only from choice old collections. A rare opportunity to acquire a specimen of this singular species. Size: 56.8 mm (length). Grading: F+. Data: Off South coast of Kangaroo Island, South Australia, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 600-1,000 m; trawled; 1992. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
