Size | 27.2 mm |
Locality | Australia |
Note | An outstanding specimen of the very rare Western Australian form of this much coveted, ‘classic’, endemic southern Australian species. Always appreciably smaller at maturity than South Australian examples, with reduced axial folds, and more subtle colours. Rare PERFECTION. Delicate peach-pink, decorated with tiny, pointillistic, evenly distributed flecks of caramel. Now extremely difficult to obtain, coming only from the choicest old collections. For the Harpidae specialist whose collection yet lacks an outstanding example of the Esperance form. Size: 27.2 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Cape le Grand, Esperance, Western Australia, Australia; upon coarse white sand/gravel substrate; 27 m; 1997. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
