Note | An outstanding large specimen of this endemic north-western Australian subspecies. Rich and beautiful colour: pale pinkish cinnamon with caramel maculae and lavender terminals. Particularly striking labral margin: 7 perfectly circular rich caramel maculae arrayed in a highly aesthetic linear design. Very difficult to obtain now, especially at this size and quality. For the Cypraeidae specialist whose collection yet lacks the dampierensis subspecies. Size: 12.9 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Cape Keraudren, Pilbara Region, Western Australia, Australia; upon sand/reef substrate, under slab at extreme low tide; 1982. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
