| Note | An outstanding large specimen of the beautiful South Australian form, exhibiting balanced proportions, in conjunction with broad form, and markedly flaring aperture. Pale straw, with fine spiral lines of caramel, and pure white columella and apertural interior. Rare quality for this typically very rough rock-reef-dwelling species. Perfect crenulated outer apertural lip. Perfect columellar 'shield'. Ultra-clean, with no encrustation, nor erosion. The BEST of the best for the Ranellidae specialist. Size: 118.6 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Off Farm Beach, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon reef/rubble substrate; 8-10 m; dived; 2003. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
