Size | 89.3 mm, w/o |
Locality | Australia |
Note | Virtually 90 mm, this impressive giant is one of the LARGEST and BEST specimens from my private collection of the rare and beautiful rich peach-pink colour form of this endemic South Australian species. Invariably with lines upon account of its ultra-fine shell and rough habitat, but exceptional overall quality for such monumental size and age, including virtually perfect, ultra-fine outer apertural lip, very rare for such size. Magnificent vivid pink apertural interior. Now obtainable only from choice old collections. For the Conidae specialist who requires a first rate giant of this rare colour form. Size: 89.3 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Thorny Passage, Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon limestone reef substrate, under slab, amongst coarse sand/gravel; 28 m; dived; 1995. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
