Size | 93.5 mm |
Locality | Australia |
Note | The LARGEST and BEST remaining giant from my private collection of the off-shore form, from an uncommon and no longer fished locality. Specimens from this particular locality are without doubt the 'royalty' of all angasi forms, exhibiting enromous size, beautiful colours, and incredible patterns. Undulating axial lines of rich reddish caramel, across a pinkish ivory ground, with exquisite background maculations of brownish lavender. Creamy orange apertural interior. Pattern formed with rare regularity. Now obtainable only from old collections. The LAST opportunity I can provide for an advanced Volutidae specialist to acquire one of the best known specimens of the angasi form. Size: 93.5 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Evans Island, Nuyts Archipelago, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 50-60 m; trawled; 1995. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
