| Note | EXCEPTIONAL JES PRIVATE COLLECTION SPECIMEN: An exceptional specimen from my private collection, representing a rare opportunity to create your own price for an extremely high-value shell. ZOILA FRIENDI: One of the most special, beautiful and beloved specimens of my entire friendi collection. Well on its way to being rufinistic, with rich orange-ochre ventrum, and incredible ultra-rich orange-ochre margins. Large, well-formed chestnut maculae across a bluish-lavender ground. Pure porcellaneous white interior, creating a striking aesthetic contrast with the orange exterior at the terminals, and at dentition. Elegant elongate form. I have seen only a handful of examples of this ultra-rare colour form, and this is unquestionably the BEST of those specimens. Its rarity is such that this distinct form is not featured in 'Australia's Spectacular Cowries'. The only specimen in 'ASC' somewhat resembling the current example is fig.f, upon plate 76, p.93, but this specimen does not exhibit such rich orange marginal colour, nor such a completely ochre-orange ventrum. Although the above images are of my usual high quality, they do not adequately convey the magnificence of this outstanding friendi 'in the hand'. Definitely for the advanced Zoila connoisseur.
