Item | # 0002320811 | Family | Muricidae | Name | Pterocheilos sabayiensis - EXTREME RARITY , LARGE SPECIMEN. |
Size | 67.8 mm |
Locality | Timor Sea, Darwin, N. Territory. |
Note | I believe this Muricidae is an EXTREMELY RARE species, known as Pter. sabayiensis, one I have seen very few specimens. It is a very delicate specimen with fine transparent varices trawled from deepwater (140M). This specimen at 67.8mm is the largest I have had. It has survived the trawling operation wonderfully, being so fragile. Is has the spire and beautiful columellar tail completely intact. An amazing specimen, graded FINE++ with just a little frond damage and some varices chips. This is the third specimen I have been fortunate to obtain and the LARGEST of them all. A RARE opportunity to the muricidae specialist. Trawled 140M, Timor Sea, Darwin, Northern Territory. |
