Family | Fasciolariidae |
Name | Fusinus australis - UNIQUE WITH ATTACHMENTS , HUGE. (Quoy & Gaimard,1833) |
Size | 132.5 mm |
Locality | Spencer Gulf, South Australia. |
Note | Regardless of being a HUGE specimen of Fusinus australis, near W.R.Size, it is even more appealing with the UNIQUE feature of a number of a Hipponyx sp. attached, most likely Hipponyx conicus. In addition there is a young H. conicus on the side of another. Truly a great interesting specimen. I have not cleaned the specimen further in the event that they may drop off. Diver collected in 10M on rock/reef, Spencer Gulf, South Australia. A Unique and novelty specimen, as well as been HUGE for the species. |
