Note | A rare first-rate specimen of this usually very rough, extreme deep-water, endemic eastern Australian species. Exemplary quality, including retention of the large, mammillate protoconch, usually lost during the trawling process. Now obtainable only from old collections. Definitely for the Fasciolariidae specialist. Size: 48.6 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Off Kiama, New South Wales, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 400-500 m; trawled; 1992. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
