Size | 13 mm |
Locality | Australia |
Note | This uncommon, diminutive, endemic eastern Australian species is rarely offered upon the world market, due to the difficulty in accessing its deep-water habitat, and the effort required to sort through the trawl spoil to locate such a tiny shell. A beautiful little olive, with an incredible, pinkish, glass-like, domed protoconch. Definitely for the Olividae specialist. Size: 13 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia; upon mud/sand/detritus substrate; 80-100 m; trawled; 2003. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
