Note | This species is particularly RARE today, especially from South Australia from where this specimen was taken. No or few specimens are even collected in the traditional trawl grounds and intertidally or dived region on the East Coast populations of Victoria and N.S.W. This specimen has been taken by a Prawn Trawler in 40M. off Nuyts Arch., Ceduna, South Australia and comes from an old collection, the only source of this species today.. A beautiful live taken specimen with operculum, graded FINE+++ with a couple of normal soft growth lines typical of this species. A lovely large specimen that exhibits a wonderful mature lip with a couple of small serrations. Amazingly this specimen exhibits it natural protection coating of periostrucum. RARELY OFFERED. |
