Note | An exceptional specimen of this rare, recently described, much sought after deep-water species - one of the most elegant of all endemic Australian trochids. Fawn and opalescent exterior. Two rows of exquisite, ultra-fine beads at the suture. Typical, fine growth lines. Perfect apex, with pin-point, glassy, mammillate protoconch intact, (usually lost to trawl damage). Size: 38.5 mm (longest dimension). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Timor Sea, off Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia; upon mud/sand/rubble substrate; 350-400 m; trawled; 2007. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
