Note | One of the BEST and most beautiful specimens I have ever handled of the seldom offered Sydney form of this endemic north-eastern Australian species. Particularly beautiful colour: rich pink-peach-apricot, with accents of caramel. Big size. Ultra-inflated. Fully mature, thickened, ‘rolled’ and glossed outer apertural lip. Typical very minor trawl loss, but high overall quality. For the Cassidae specialist. Size: 63.7 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Off North-East of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; upon sand substrate; 100-120 m; trawled; 2004. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
