Note | An outstanding, ultra-large specimen of the supremely beautiful Queensland form. Completely different from typical, far more common examples from the Philippines and elsewhere, the Queensland form exhibits exceptionally beautiful colours: pale peach, fawn, apricot, blue and ivory. The current specimen is far larger than most Queensland examples, and of superb quality for such enormous size. A product of the legendary 1980s Queensland trawls, and now obtainable only from old collections. Size: 83.2 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Off Lodestone Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 10-25 m; dredged; 1983. |
