Item | # 0002172412 |
Family | Turbinellidae |
Name | Alitvasum typicum - Recently renamed !! , Dekkers and Maxwell, 2018 |
Size | 120.2 mm |
Locality | Salisbury, Esperance WA |
Note | Altivasum flindersi has recently been split into three separate species. I can supply a copy of the description to anyone with interest. The large long frond shells collected in Western Australia are now Altivasum typicum. This specimen was found in 90 metres of water south of Salisbury Island. Crabbed shell with mature intact lip. For some reason this specimen has only limited frond development. The shell has a hole near the tip of its spire. |
