Item | # 0002157538 | Family | Cypraeidae | Name | Zoila eludens eludens - HUGE, QUALITY SPECIMEN. , (Raybaudi, 1991) |
Size | 69.2 mm |
Locality | Muiron Is, Exmouth, N.W. Aust. |
Note | Available here on this auction is a HUGE wonderful specimen of eludens. At 69.2mm it is in the top 2% for size of all the eludens ever found. It is an appealing shell not just in size, but having a unique black band running down the columellar margin. In addition, it has the beautiful feature I love, being maliated (facets) over the entire dorsum. Not conveyed so well in my images, is the attractive feature of the blue halo along the top of both margins. Graded FINE+++/GEM- with a lump on the labral margin, not even readily seen, but it is felt when running your fingers along the shell.
A HUGE, great specimen. Diver collected in sows ear sponge, Muiron Is, Exmouth Gulf, N.W. Australia, March 2018. |
