Note | NOTE: Special sales dispersing exceptional specimens from my private collection, along with highlights from my high quality stock, will continue indefinitely, without this initial notice. ASTRALIUM STELLATA: A large and superb specimen of the highest possible quality for this usually very rough, encrusted and eroded rock-dwelling species. Vivid blue, such as in the characteristic, striking operculum of this species, is perhaps the rarest colour to occur in molluscan fauna, and its hue in the current example is atypically rich. Painstakingly cleaned, with no typical encrustation. Size: 46.3 mm (longest dimension). Grading: Fine+++; w/o. Data: Broome, Western Australia, Australia; upon rock reef substrate, at low tide; 1988. |
