Note | NOTE: Special sales dispersing exceptional specimens from my private collection, along with highlights from my high quality stock, will continue indefinitely, without this initial notice. AMORIA UNDULATA ANGASI: The RAREST combination of all undulata variants: the 'straight line' pattern form of angasi, with a pure white 'leucostoma' aperture. This is the ONLY specimen I have ever seen combining these two extremely rare traits. As the Volutidae specialist will know, the South Australian angasi form, (the most exquisite incarnation of this endemic Australian species), typically exhibits a rich orange-cream apertural interior. Fully mature, markedly thickened, ‘rolled’ and glossed outer apertural lip. A couple of typical minor pattern disruptions, often associated with the 'straight' line form. Hypermature, with great weight to size ratio. Retained within my private collection of undulata variants upon account of its potentially unique nature, and now to be passed to an advanced Volutidae collector interested in rare forms. Size: 68.7 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Point Bolingbroke, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 8 m; dived; 1988. |
