Note | NOTE: Special sales dispersing exceptional specimens from my private collection, along with highlights from my high quality stock, will continue indefinitely, without this initial notice. PTERYNOTUS ACANTHOPTERUS: One of the BEST giant specimens I have ever seen of this endemic north-western Australian species, of exceedingly rare quality for such giant size. Superb preservation of ultra-delicate fronding at varical edges. Rich chocolate, with pure white apertural interior. In a different league to most specimens offered. Note: indentation to varices is not damage, but the varical structure of this species. Size: 96.8 mm (length). Grading: F++++; w/o. Data: Off Dampier, Western, Australia, Australia; upon sand/mud substrate amongst rock reef, upon intertidal sand flat at extreme, seasonal low tide; 1987. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
