Note | NOTE: Special sales dispersing exceptional specimens from my private collection, along with highlights from my high quality stock, will continue indefinitely, without this initial notice. BIPLEX PULCHELLUM: The REAL thing. (Certain larger species are often misidentified as pulchellum, a diminutive species, with ultra-fine sculpture.) Known locally as jacundum, (Adams, 1853), (now synonymised with pulchellum upon grounds of priority), this is the BEST quality I have ever seen for this elusive species. Sheer perfection. Very difficult to obtain now, coming only from old collections. Size: 26.2 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Cooktown, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 6-8 m; dredged; 1984. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
