RANELLA AUSTRALASIA: For Ranellidae specialists, I offer an opportunity in this auction to acquire EVERY variety of the deep-water form of australasia - my entire set of five shells, all of exceptional quality for this usually very rough form. Specimen 1: A truly beautiful specimen of the variety exhibiting numerous well-developed axial ridges, and spiral bands of rich caramel across a yellowish fawn ground to spectacular aesthetic effect. Pure porcellaneous white apertural interior. Large size. Hypermature, with markedly thickened, flaring outer apertural lip, with delicate outer edge in a superb state of preservation. Ultra-clean, with no encrustation. Quite a rare shell at this size and quality. An outstanding example for the Ranellidae specialist. Size: 106 mm (length). Grading: F++++.
