MAXWELLIA SANTAROSANA: Only around a millimetre under the current official World Record Size, this extremely large and outstanding specimen exhibits exceptional preservation of the delicate, elongate, recurved siphonal canal and varices for this usually rough species. Beautiful rich orangish ochre varices upon a pure white shell. The waters surrounding its locality now constitute the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, and no fresh specimens will be available in future. Now obtainable only from old collections.
