Item | # 0002118541 | Family | Cypraeidae | Name | Zoila perlae eludens eludens - TWO CONTRAST SIDES, NICE , (Raybaudi, 1991) |
Size | 60.3 mm |
Locality | Muiron Is, Exmouth, N.W. Aust. |
Note | A lovely DARK specimen of eludens eludens. This specimen exhibits the wonderful margin characteristics of eludens, being the large tiger spotting and blue frosted halo above the margins, although the blue not represented well in my poor images. Interestingly this specimen has quite contrasting sides with the labral margin an intense orange (again not shown well) with the tiger spotting, where as the columellar margin has the black from the anterior canal running through to almost the centre of the margin, then it has an amazing white patch. A really pretty specimen. Graded GEM- with a tiny soft crease, not apparent on dorsal view. Diver collected in 25M on large Sows ear shaped sponge, off Muiron Island, Exmouth, N.W. Australia. This specimen is a real attractive specimen almost forgetting the wonderful rich coloured base. |
