Item | # 0002113552 | Family | Buccinidae | Name | Neptunea laeva - UNIQUE! , Golikov, Goryachev & Kantor, 198 |
Size | 132 mm, w/o |
Locality | Okhotsk sea |
Note | This is a shell that rarely offers for sale at all sites known to me. And there are a number of explanations. First, this shell is located in inaccessible areas of the Sea of Okhotsk, at a depth where ship trawling is not performed. Secondly, if the shells are found in the intertidal zone, then they are already dead. And of course, this is the only left-handed Neptunea from the Far Eastern seas, which was described by one of the last largest Russian mallocologists in the late twentieth century. Great, big size! There is a strong, deep chipped lip, visible in the photo, ending with a small crack. Grade F+/F++, Okhotsk sea, 40m. depth, crab trap, 1998 year. Enjoy the auction with a low starting price. |
