Item | # 0002113546 | Family | Buccinidae | Name | Neptunea vladivostokensis , Bartsch, P., 1933 |
Size | 190 mm, w/o |
Locality | North Japan sea |
Note | Wonderful large shell from the old collection. Most often, the shells of cold-water seas are acquired in the collection already in a treated form, fouling agents are removed from their surface along with the peristructum. This shell is so beautiful with a large colony of balanuses that I did not dare to remove them. I hope you also appreciate its beauty. There is a chip on the lip, visible in the photo. Grade F++/F+++. Locality North Japan sea, trawled 200-220m. depth, 1995 year. I attribute this shell to a subtype vladivostokensis because of the presence of a large number of longitudinal carinae.
