NamePlekocheilus veranyi - Extremely rare. , Pfeiffer,1847
Size43,96 mm
LocalityCundinamarca, Colombia.
NoteA very rare and exceptionally difficult species to find. The apex and aperture lip are in good condition; however, the inner columellar portion is broken, as clearly shown in the photograph. Its most striking feature is an incredible and distinctive pattern of remarkably consistent brown speckles, giving the shell a particularly attractive and unusual appearance. Collected among the leaf litter of a humid forest at an elevation of 2,220 metres above sea level in September 2026, this specimen retains its protoconch and features a well-preserved, intact lip. This is an excellent opportunity for collectors and researchers seeking uncommon material for their reference collections. A truly scarce and highly desirable specimen, offered at a very competitive starting price. An outstanding acquisition for any specialized international malacological collection, particularly for collectors seeking rare specimens with distinctive and consistent shell patterning.
