Hexaplex princeps DARK BROWN BANDING FORM!

Item# 0004292887
FamilyMuricidae
NameHexaplex princeps - DARK BROWN BANDING FORM! , (Broderip, 1833)
Size64 mm, w/o
LocalityBarra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mex.
NoteSTRIKING DARK SHINY BANDING SPECIAL PATTERN!! An Exceptional specimen showing the most elegant shiny black-brownish banding pattern form all around, with light purplish in the lip sides. The spines are really thick, branched and really long curved in the shoulder side. The spire displays a thick aesthetical spiral banding making a great unusual effect. Spectacular intact exclusive spiny beauty. Apex, siphon and lip are really coming with excellent conditions. F+++-Gem. Open sea Hexaplex princeps are generally 99.9% completely ugly with classic dense erosion, missing spines all around, dense drill holes, no coloration or pattern, and thick calcareous organisms attached all around them almost impossible to remove, that is the common Hexaplex princeps. However, on very rare occasions and in very enclosed bays or lagoon mouths that are open to the sea, there are individuals with great condition, but finding them is always a mystery and really hard. With my years of experience and luck, I know of some places where they sometimes appear in ideal and striking conditions. Here I present this unique and unusual top selection for the species, choose your favorite in this great auction. For any MURICIDAE lovers of aesthetics and advancer collectors. Found attached on, under and between large muddy stones with oysters and mussels about 5m- 8m deep. Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mexico. August 2026. Estimated value between 40-45 euros. Good luck and Happy shelling!!! MEXICO PACIFIC
