This superb specimen represents a highly localised geographical variant of the Queensland form of this endemic northern Australian species, and constitutes one of the most beautiful of all subviridis forms. Ultra-thickened ivory margins. Dusky pale rose terminals. Greenish cream dorsum, mottled with caramel, and with background maculations of reddish tan. No longer freshly collected, and now obtainable only from choice Australian collections. A form undoubtedly lacking in many advanced Cypraeidae collections. Data: Off Urangan, Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast region, Queensland, Australia; upon reef substrate, at extreme seasonal low tide; 1977. Size: 29.4 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
