NoteThis is one of very few vercoi we have found in the western Great Australian Bight. It was collected from a grey saddle sponge on a bommie in 42 metres of water 25km northeast of the Eastern Group which is east of Israelite Bay. Probably the only vercoi collected from this location. It was collected during January 2026. Broad canoe shaped shell with magic apricot cream base. It has dark chocolate tan spots highlighted on a pale background. It has perfect siphons but has been bitten by a fish resulting in a couple of dorsal scrapes which the animal has healed with a thin coat of clear nacre. Fine+/Fine++.
