Item# 0004267152
FamilyCypraeidae
NameZoila friendii marina - Rarely Offered !!! , Kostin, 2005
Size84.9 mm
LocalityZeewijk Channel, Geraldton
NoteTaken from a orange funnel sponge in 51 metres of water in Zeewijk Channel during April 2026.  The shell exhibits the diagnostic feature of marina with it's widest point being in the middle of the shell rather than offset to the posterior end of the shell. Attractive tan brown pattern on a blue chevron pattern The shell has perfect siphons but is a little young and light weight with a soft dorsal fold. We consider marina one of the rarest forms of friendii as they are rarely collected. They are found in deep water inside the Abrolhos Islands and distributed sparsely hence seldom found. Fine+/Fine++.
