Gorgeous live-taken specimen, very dark shell. Subspecies 'dalli' found in northern Australia, most specimens were taken during the heyday of Australian trawling in the 80's-90's on the outskirts of the Northwest Shelf. Since the ban on bottom trawling, virtually no specimens have been collected since and these specimens are now only available from old collections. Exceptional condition specimen from an old WA collection, with periostracum and operculum. Gem lip/canals, no faults I can see ~ F+++/GEM. Trawled at 475m off Scott Reef, Northwest Shelf, Western Australia.
