NoteThese specimens are typically very large and heavy with huge flared bases similar to Bernier Island rosselli. This is a new population we have found and as far North that we have found the species. Few are collected and even less are in nice condition. This specimen was collected from a purple globe sponge in 52 metres of water in May 2025 on a low limestone reef west of Red Bluff. Graded Fine++ due to silt inclusions and nacre windows to dorsum and a tiny chip to posterior siphon. Unfortunately with global warming we are seeing that nearly all rosselli collected in the northern portion of their habitat have significant nacre blister and algal inclusions in their nacre. This specimen is in nice condition to the majority we see.
