On this auction are some Zoila specimens from my personal collection, not random stock shells. This one was obtained from a very old collection. Data tag said Geraldton, but quite likely from Abrolhos. By diver on sponge is the only other data. Since it's from an old collection it has become a little brown, not so much black like a super fresh one, but it is a terrific shell. Lovely flanging and overall shape. It does have a few minor defects, namely a very shallow chip at the anterior canal, a minor blemish (though not obvious) on the anterior labral side and also a pale spot blemish (not sure if a nacre defect or a filled drill) at the posterior columella side. Haven't seen dealers offering these for a while, and the last time I did the price was thousands. In my collection since 2015, and in another Australian collection for a few decades before that.
