NoteAn EXCEPTIONAL ULTRA-LARGE specimen – the FINEST I have ever encountered of this RARE, HIGH-ALTITUDE species. RARE QUALITY – PERFECTION. Ultra-rich colour. Definitely for the advanced land snail specialist seeking a ‘BEST of the BEST’ ultra-large example of this elusive species. NOTE: In 1863, Morelet posited that the name sangoae was probably an error, intended to refer to Río Pangoa, in the Department of Junín. Data: Huancabamba River region, Oxapampa, Oxapampa District, Oxapampa Province, Department of Pasco, Peru; in tropical montane cloud forest, at 1600-1700 MAMSL, upon low tree/bush, after rain; November 2021. Size: 84.6 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
