NoteLOTTIIDAE - Lottia stanfordiana (S. S. Berry, 1957). EXTRAORDINARY DARK GREEN WITH GREAT PATTERN WOOOOW!! The shell shows excellent strong dark green with radiant coloration combined with brown colors and radial white spotted kind of tents-spots. The ventral side shows a striking gloss blue exotic color with green middle elegant spot, really fresh colors. Rare to get so green dark colors as this one here. Light scars of life almost lost between as always for this rough species not really harming this beauty F+++-F++. This is the highest selected and seldom seen conditions you can get for the species with extremely splendid green-bluish colors. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds attached to the smooth stones, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. Playa el Tecuan, Jalisco, Mexico. November 2025.
