NoteA superb LIVE-COLLECTED specimen of this elusive, endemic South African species. Rich colour. Supremely well-formed pattern. PERFECT apertural lip. Globose, mammillate protoconch intact. Rare retention of the ultra-delicate operculum, very important for the connoisseur. Now difficult to obtain. Family: Babyloniidae. Data: Off Cape Saint Francis, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa; upon reef substrate, under small slab, amongst algae/sponges; 36 m; dived; 2004. Size: 39.4 mm. Grading: F++ (one light ventral line) w/o. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
