NoteAn exceptional, ultra-large specimen of this endemic, deep-water South African species, of RARE QUALITY, incorporating PERFECT, fully mature apertural lip. Fine, file-like external surface sculpture incredibly well-preserved. Ultra-clean, with no typical erosion. No longer freshly collected. An abyssicola for the connoisseur. Data: Off Cape Point, Cape Peninsula, South Africa; upon sand/mud substrate; 150-200 m; trawled; 1984. Size: 71.2 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
