Note
Two nice and giant (32.6 mm) and very nice tiny (7.8 mm) specimens of Scurria araucana found in shellgrit collected in a tidal pool in a rocky beach north of Caldera, northern Chile. This species, together with other Scurrias in the area, are very very variable, and some of their varieties received several names in the past. These particular specimens have nice shells with strong radial ribs on the dorsum and a nice interior of the shell. The largest (which is a giant for the species) is obviously beached, but the smallest one is in very good condition for the species and it has an excellent sculpture. A low initial price for an interesting limpet species endemic from the southeastern Pacific.
