Taken from a geodia sponge in 129 metres of water west of Margaret River in October 2025. In the area west of Margaret River in 120 to 130 metres of water we find huge variation in the friendii population with shells that vary from being very kostini like to those that are very similar to inshore friendii. They have huge diversity in both colour and shape.
This specimen could best be described as a deep water friendii. Graded Fine+ due to an old nacre injury to the dorsum that has been healed. A hole has been punched through the anterior dorsum that has subsequently been infilled with new nacre by the animal.
It's base creamy with well pronounced apricot siphons, a creamy dorsum covered in small tan spots. Start price 200 euro to allow the posting of for photos.
